Yvonne Shaw is an artist who explores interactional behaviour within her photographic practice. Utilising her camera as an analytical device to investigate encounters, she depicts ways in which we consciously and unconsciously reveal aspects of ourselves to others.

She completed a Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts at Unitec in 2015 and was awarded a Senior Scholar award and the Highest Achievement Award in Photography and Media Arts.

In 2017 she completed a Master of Fine Arts with First Class Honours at Elam School of Fine Arts. Recipient of the 2019 Auckland Festival of Photography Annual Commission.

Currently, she works as a lecturer at Unitec and is completing a PhD in Fine Arts at The University of Auckland.
