Christine Jeffs
Christine Jeffs is a filmmaker and photographer.
Her films have been officially selected for Cannes; Stroke in Un Certain Regard, and Rain in Directors’ Fortnight. They have screened in theatres and festivals internationally.
Christine has a Master of Fine Arts ( First Class Hons) from the Elam School of Fine Arts. Her practice in photography is in portraiture and landscape, particularly focused on subjectivity.
She is interested in the ethics of engagement and the slippage between constructed and documentary moments. Her landscapes and portraits open up a dialogue about what it is to look and what it is to see.
Jack, 13 was a finalist in the 2017 Wallace Art Awards. Nichole, 2018, from her series Somewhere Near won the First Runner-up Award at the 28th Wallace Art Awards, 2019.
Her first solo photographic show, Subject To Consent, was shown at The Vivian Gallery, 2020.
