Sharifa completed a Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts majoring in Photography at Unitec, Auckland in 2015.

In her art practice Sharifa investigates the occurrence of domestic violence in several countries. Her objective is to highlight the extent of cruelty that many women experience on a daily basis. It makes her extremely sad that these women live their whole lives as victims and the cycle continues with the next generation. Photography is a way for her to raise awareness of this global issue.
