Simon completed a Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts at Unitec in 2015. At Unitec he started to experiment with Solargrams, creating delicate prints without the use of a camera or negative.

Direct, positive tracings are made by placing objects on light-sensitive paper, then exposing them to sunlight. Simon has also created his own unique method of adding colour at the development stage of the print. Each artwork is unique.
